Sri Lanka Beach wedding

We are so excited to share this incredible destination wedding on the east coast of Sri Lanka at Jetwing Surf, Pottuvil! The wedding felt like the perfect mix between intimate and epic, pretty but also beautiful. Press play on the slideshow to see what we captured in photographs!

Pre-events

We began with a gorgeous sunrise pre-shoot on the beach at Jet Wing Surf Hotel in Pottuvil. The advantage of going to a destination that is not flooded with tourists is that you have the beauty of the place to yourself. The couple were able to take a moment, immersing themselves in the environment, before all the festivities began. Shoutout to the cute stray dogs that accompanied us and loved our bride (sometimes a bit too much!).

Sangeet & Haldi

Our groom's family are from India, and they really wanted to start off with an Indian style celebration. We are so glad they did! After a teary first-look where Roy and Katie saw each other all dressed up, the Sangeet event saw some brilliant song and dance as we dined on local and international cuisine.

The following day, we put on yellow and white clothes to celebrate with Haldi! We love the expressions we caught of the couple enjoying (sort of) all the colour (and beer!) being showered on them.

Wedding and Reception

Then came the wedding day itself. Amongst the wind swept palm trees and white sand beaches - the stage was set for the couple to tie the knot. Emotions ran high and we watched the couple exchange rings and vows (even we got teary). We then feasted on delicious food, heard some heartfelt speeches, and danced the night away!
