Avani+ hua hin Thailand indian destination wedding

We are so excited to share this incredibly fun Sindhi / Gujarati destination wedding at Avani+ Resort, in Hua Hin, Thailand! It felt like the perfect mix between traditional and fun, wild but also intimate, pretty but also beautiful celebration. Press play on the slideshow to see what we captured in photographs!

Pre-events

We began with a gorgeous sunrise pre-shoot on the beaches of Hua Hin, where our couple were able to take a moment watching the sun rise before their festivities began. After getting their feet wet by the warm waves of Thailand's east coast, they had their mehndi, mandvo, ghari puja and their welcome party at Avani Resorts.

Wedding

We captured the most stunning Hindu ceremony, with the backdrop of the turquoise sea. It was almost as if the waves were blessing the couple, coming ashore to see what a Sindhi / Gujarati hindu ceremony looks like!

When you look back at photographs, we want you to feel like you were truly there in the moment. It's not about how things "looked" but also how they "felt". The feeling of your otherwise stoic father getting emotional while "giving" you away as per Hindu custom, or when you nail your choreographed dance performance and the elation that comes with it.

Sangeet

Diksha is an incredible dancer, so the pressure was on for not just her, but also Niral, and all her friends and family performing at the Sangeet! The pressure was real for us as photographers too - to capture those split-second moments where everything in a photograph comes together - light, moment, and composition. Needless to say everyone smashed it! The last photo with them dancing in their t-shirts is the cutest!

Pool Party & Reception

What happens when you bring people together over food, music, and a swimming pool? A pool party - styled in a candyland theme! After fuelling ourselves with some insanely delicious street food, we jumped in the pool ourselves. The best way to photograph a pool party is from inside the pool!

The entire celebration culminated with their reception in Avani's ballroom. Diksha wore a jaw-dropping red dress while Niral charmed with his suave black tuxedo. Not going to lie, I (Raj) got an ego boost every time someone would say I look like Niral (this happened at least 3 times).

We captured some heartfelt speeches and also surprised the couple with some of their photographs from the past couple of days. It was really special seeing them react to their photographs in real time! The following day it was genuinely sad to say goodbye to everyone - we met some incredible people while doing what we love.

We may not have slept much over the few days, but we slept well later knowing we dedicated ourselves completely to our couple. We went high with our cameras, we went low, we went dark, we went light...we remained curious throughout the celebrations to tell their story. We're so proud to have not just captured these images, but also to have been part of such a wonderful couple's story.
